January 14, 2024 —

Registration is now open for our Spring 2024 season for Girls and Boys in grades Pre-K through 8th grade.

  • U6 Clinic for girls and boys in grades Pre-K and K – introduction to lacrosse, 1x clinic per week
  • U8, U10, U12 (possibly U14) girls in grades 1-8 – 2x practices per week, multiple inter-town games. Availability of an organized U14 team will depend on how many girls register and if other local towns have U14 teams.  We will still provide clinic-style instruction for U14 players even if an organized team is not possible.
  • U8, U10, U12, (possibly U14) boys in grades 1-8 – The boys program in HPLC is a new and rapidly growing program with 2023 being the first year we offered something. For 2024 we hope to have enough boys to run organized teams and inter-town games for one or more age groups. In the event we do not get enough boys for organized teams, we will run this as a clinic again as we did in 2023.

NOTE:  One change for 2024 is that we will not be including a HPLC pinnie this year in the registration.  This has allowed us to lower our registration fees.  Existing players can reuse their pinnie from 2023 (design will be the same), and new players will be provided a link to order a pinnie and other team apparel from an online team store.  Existing players can choose to order a new pinnie if desired.

Regular price registration closes 3/1/2024 after which a late registration fee will be applied.

What is Lacrosse?

Lacrosse is one of the most exciting sports in existence, and as a result its popularity is growing extremely fast throughout the United States.  Many public-school systems now offer both boys and girls lacrosse programs, and there are numerous town and regional recreation and travel leagues popping up to support the demand.

Lacrosse was invented by the Native Americans in what is believed to be the 12th century. Contests were seen as major event, often taking place over several days.  They were played for recreational and religious reasons, and also to toughen up young warriors for battle.

Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball.  Players use the lacrosse stick to carry, pass, catch, and shoot the lacrosse ball into the opposing team’s goal.  At the end of the game, the team with the most goals is the winner.
